FLSA Final Amendments to Regulations
On April 5, 2011, the Wage and Hour Division of the U.S. Department of Labor published its final amendments to regulations interpreting the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (FLSA) and the Portal-to-Portal Act of 1947. Most of the changes were enacted in order to bring the regulations up to date with the language of other current laws. Areas of substantive change include affirmative developments pertaining to tip credit regulations and the decision not to adopt proposed amendments concerning fluctuating workweek compensation.
